First time buyers Amy Jackson (26) and Gemma Pagan (31) have recently made their step on to the property ladder using the Government-backed Help to Buy scheme at Lovell Homes’ The Oaklands development in Telford.
Previously renting a townhouse in Bridgnorth, the pair decided to research local homes for sale and purchase their own two-bedroom home with their Dachshund, Hugo. After finding The Oaklands online, the pair of teachers visited a few of the properties at the development and fell in love with the stylish Keddington style.
Buying a new build was a key factor for Amy and Gemma, as the fact that everything comes brand new appealed to them. The added security with the NHBC warranty and the idea that it would be a few years longer before any household updates were needed were also persuading factors.
Gemma commented: “We chose this development as it is situated in a highly convenient location, central to the town centre whilst still feeling rural due to the nature trail behind us.
“The Keddington is perfect for us, as we only needed two bedrooms for just us and the dog. The kitchen leads into the garden, which is ideal for Hugo.
“The home feels warmer than our previous home, and as we are in a new build, our energy bills are cheaper.
“Geri, the sales executive, was really welcoming and personally involved in our move. We received a welcome pack from Lovell as a lovely gesture, and we really feel valued as customers.”
Located on Matlock Avenue, The Oaklands is a development of 44 stylish two and three bedroom homes, perfect for first time buyers.
With prices starting from £166,950, the homes are available to purchase with the Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme. The scheme allows homebuyers to buy a new home under the value of £600,000 with just a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage, with the final 20% made up by an equity loan provided by the Government. First time buyers looking for their new home in Telford only need a deposit of £8,348 for a house priced at £166,950.
