Mandy talks Stradbroke and relocating to Suffolk

Mandy Allen is a sales executive at Lovell, currently based at The Acorns at Walsham-le-Willows and will also be looking after our site at Stradbroke, coming soon.

You wouldn’t know it, as she is an absolute natural and sold a house on her first day, but Mandy is new to property sales and is also passionate about Stradbroke after relocating from Kent three years ago after falling in love with the area.

We caught up with her for a chat…

How are you getting on at Lovell?

I love it. The buyers, the visitors to our show homes, the Lovell team, are all so wonderful and very supportive. I actually sold a home on my first day which I am very proud about!

I always wanted to do this as a job, I worked for 33 years as a specification manager in hospitality and leisure hotels, and I am grateful that Lovell took a chance on me. Problem solving and helping people is what I love.

How is it at The Acorns?

We only have a handful of properties available – it really is the last chance to buy here. The location is what makes it so special – so quiet and pretty but excellent transport links. Even the show homes have early birds so I can encourage anyone interested to book an appointment now.

Why did you relocate to Suffolk?

I lived in Maidstone in Kent but really wanted a quieter pace of life. We fell in love with Suffolk and its quieter pace of life, community feel, open spaces and places to walk our dog. We chose Stradbroke and love it.

What will people love about the Stradbroke site?

I personally can’t wait as I will be able to bike or walk to work! I have already started an interest list too for All Saints Green at Stradbroke and know it will be really popular.

There’s a lovely village vibe and community here. It has a butchers, bakery, spa, leisure centre and community centre, doctors and a lovely pub called The Ivy House. My neighbours are lovely and we go to wine tasting and sports classes together. We love it and I am also on the parish council. People all want to help and support you.

The Lovell site sites on the edge of the village in a prime location and there will be around 60 homes.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

Walking my dog, am on the parish council committee, swimming, and taking part in local events too.
