Lincoln family upsize using Lovell Homes’ homebuying scheme

A family from Lincoln have moved up the property ladder to Lovell Homes’ Ingleby View development in Saxilby after taking advantage of Lovell Homes’ Helping Hands scheme.

Gemma and Iain Wallis recently moved into their brand-new home after needing to upsize following the birth of their daughter, as their mid-terraced two-bedroom home was no longer big enough.

Now, the family live in a four-bedroom Leyburn style home and have plenty of space to enjoy as they spend more time at home.

Lovell Homes’ Helping Hands scheme allowed Gemma and Iain to enjoy a stress-and-hassle-free buying experience without paying expensive estate agent fees. The scheme works as an assisted move and with an independent valuation of the purchasers’ existing property. The sales team will then reserve the buyers’ chosen Lovell home and legal completion can take place once a buyer has been found for their existing property.

Gemma, 35, who works as a teacher, said: “It’s really lovely having a brand-new home that nobody has previously lived in, it’s fresh, clean and untouched! We had originally put an early bird reservation on a different style home, but the consideration of paying a little more for an extra bedroom, bathroom, utility and dining room changed our minds. It’s a huge and spacious property but still feels cosy and we plan for this to be our forever home.

“My favourite thing is the space. There’s ample amounts of space to tuck things away whilst leaving plenty of room to play, the hallway especially is great for playing football! It was a little overwhelming to begin with, going from a two-bedroom home to a four-bedroom, but it’s a wonderful sense of achievement that we’ve worked hard for.

“The new community here is lovely and full of friendly families. We’re tucked in the corner with lots of surrounding green space which is just perfect for us.

“We really love Saxilby and wanted to stay in the village, and the other brand-new homes in the area didn’t have the same feel and look. We both work in Lincoln so Saxilby is just far enough to not live in the city but close enough for us to commute easily. There is everything you need here; two doctors, a local shop, a school, two nurseries, a village hall, play parks, pubs, a train station and buses every hour.”

Iain, 39 and a postman, added: “We moved home ourselves and were very lucky to have sold our previous property the day before the first lockdown. The sales executive Sharon Jackson, who we absolutely love, was amazing throughout and made it as easy as possible, even throughout lockdown. Sharon always kept us in the loop and updated with any information she had, and when Government restrictions allowed we still popped in to see her and take a cake or treat!

“We used the Helping Hands scheme to buy our home, which was extremely easy and from the start to selling our previous home it only took nine days. It was so easy to do and we would definitely recommend the scheme and Lovell to friends and family.”
