Children from St Peter’s Catholic Primary School in Doncaster have come runners up in a national competition after they designed pictures to decorate hoarding around Lovell Homes’ Willow Grange development at Lakeside.

Year two and three pupils from the school, which is located near to Willow Grange, entered the Considerate Constructors Ivor Goodsite Hoarding Competition 2019, with the theme of ‘Amazon Rainforest – Do we appreciate what we have?’ where they were named as runners up.

After studying habitats and researching what can be done to help preserve it, the children decided to produce drawings of the creatures that live in the rainforest for Lovell to showcase at the popular Doncaster development.

Pupils attended a site visit to take a look at their finished signage around the development and receive their medals and a goody bag each, as well as taking a look at the current works happening on site.

Located off Lakeside Boulevard, Willow Grange is an exclusive selection of 142 two, three and four-bedroom homes perfect for all types of purchaser.

Mrs Young, the Deputy Head Teacher at St. Peter’s said: "We are so proud of our children, who worked incredibly hard on their paintings and are delighted that their efforts have been recognised. It is wonderful that their creativity is displayed publicly for the wider community to enjoy"

Nicola Bailey, liaison officer for Lovell Homes said: “We are so pleased that the work of St Peter’s achieved runners up in the hoarding competition.

“This was a great way to involve children around Willow Grange and we are proud to display them around our development for our employees, customers and visitors to see.”
