CROWN MEADOWS WELCOMES FIRST RESIDENTS

It’s a special moment when the first residents move onto a new build site: a moment when the site stops being a collection

of new homes and starts becoming a new community. It’s no different at Crown Meadows, our development of stunning two, three and four bedroom homes, and three bedroom bungalows, situated towards the north of Norwich in the picturesque village of Newton St Faith. As the first new homeowners start to arrive, we caught up with a few to discover their journey to their new beginning, which, for some, is their first step on the property ladder.

First time buyer Matthew Cates and his partner Danielle Beales are one of several couples in the development to use Help to Buy to secure their first home. “We’d been waiting for nine months to buy,” explains Matthew, “and wanted to find a property which was local to where we were currently living. Crown Meadows was the ideal location – a small estate located in a quiet village. Help to Buy is an extremely useful scheme that enables people like ourselves to afford a property we otherwise wouldn't be able to afford. The process was really easy and simple, our mortgage advisor and solicitors (recommended by Lovell) handled everything fast and efficiently.”

Having moved in, Matthew and Danielle are very pleased with their first home. Matthew adds: “It's very exciting to be living on our own for the first time, we have lots to sort out but are enjoying every minute of it. We love the size of the plot and our big garden!”

Crown Meadows is proving popular with more families too. Karina Beckett moved to Crown Meadows with her two children. Karina said: “I’d lived in a period property in Horsham St Faiths for 10 years and needed to downsize when I got divorced. I wanted to stay in the area – it’s a lovely village with great amenities and I wanted to stay local for when my children move up to secondary school.

Originally, I thought I’d like to buy another period property, but we saw Crown Meadows and it all just made sense. Life is busy – I’m a fulltime teacher with two children – so a new build was ideal.

“My house at Crown Meadows is sparkly and new, and there is nothing that I need to do. I’ve got a lovely end plot and I love my large garden. Everything in the new house is mine – I got to choose the kitchen colour and worktops, the flooring, doors and bathroom tiles. This is the first house I’ve ever owned on my own and it’s a totally lovely feeling. It’s very special – like Christmas!

“Dawn at Lovell was amazing and just made things happen. She was able to work in my move date around term times and was brilliant.”

Mel Turmaine and his family are among the first occupants too, having moved from Old Catton. Mel, who has experience in the building trade said: “I have worked for new build sites for a lot of years and have always regarded Lovell as a good quality builder. My wife and I have been keeping an eye on the houses in the area for a while and when I heard that Lovell were building at Newton St Faith, it was the ideal opportunity to invest in a Lovell home. We really liked the different house types and their layout.”

Crown Meadows is a particularly special move for them as Mel explains: “We moved into the house with the intent of this being our forever home and we just love it here. We are particularly impressed with our kitchen and couldn't be happier with our final design. It really is the hub of our home and we spend so much time in there as a family and when we have guests.

“We are especially impressed with how efficient and helpful the Lovell site team are. They've always been very quick to address any queries and have been extremely helpful. We are really grateful.”

Further plots at Crown Meadows will be released in 2022.
