Clayton-le-Woods pupils build their knowledge on health and safety with Lovell Homes

Pupils at Lancaster Lane Community Primary School in Clayton-le-Woods learnt about the importance of health and safety on construction sites at a recent visit from local housebuilder, Lovell Homes.

With Lovell’s Oaktree Grange development currently under construction just a short walk from the school and the summer holidays fast approaching, the Lovell Homes NW team were keen to share their health and safety advice with the Year 1 pupils

Lovell’s Health & Safety team began the visit with an informative talk and short film on why you should never enter a construction site without the correct supervision and protection and outlined the risks on an active building site as well as the meaning of signs normally displayed around the perimeter of the site. This was followed by an interactive session where pupils worked in small teams to construct their very own model Lovell home

Paul Woby, social value manager at Lovell Homes NW said: “Lovell Homes is committed to working closely with local communities and schools regarding health and safety on our sites. It’s extremely important to communicate why constructions sites should never be used as places to play. We were delighted to meet the pupils at Lancaster Lane who were incredibly engaged and we look forward to running more of these sessions with local schools in the future.”

Kaye Gray, Deputy Headteacher at Lancaster Lane Community Primary School said: “The children learnt so much - it was so valuable and extremely relevant to them, because many of our pupils live nearby constructions sites. They certainly will remember the messages from the visit. We're really pleased that Lovell take the health sand safety so seriously of local children and invest time into our community. Plus the children loved the chance try on protective clothing and tile the model house - it may just have inspired some children for their future!"

Located in an established residential area of Clayton-le-Woods, Oaktree Grange is its own small haven, yet situated within easy reach of the motorway network and a short walk from Leyland train station.

Homes at Oaktree Grange, which are priced from £214,995, offer a premium specification including brand name appliances from Bosch and ceramic tiling from Porcelanosa. The development also features a playground and plenty of open space, making it an ideal development for families.

The government’s Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme is available on homes at Oaktree Grange, and assists not only first time buyers to get onto the property ladder, but also helps families upgrade to a home they may have previously thought out of reach. For Help to Buy: Equity Loan, purchasers require a mortgage for 75% of the property value with the government providing an equity loan to cover the remaining 20%, which is interest free for five years. However with changes to Help to Buy coming in 2021 meaning it will only be available to first time buyers, Lovell is urging purchasers interested in moving up the ladder to act quickly.

The Oaktree Grange marketing suite is located off Dallington Avenue, Clayton le Woods, nr Leyland, PR25 5AG and is open 7 days a week, 10.00am-5.00pm. Visit https://www.lovell.co.uk/developments/oaktree-grange/ for more details.
