Leading developer Lovell Homes donates £2000 to local church refurbishment

Leading Midlands housebuilder Lovell Homes has donated £2,000 to The Triumphant Church of God in West Bromwich, located nearby to its Harvills Grange development on Wedgewood Avenue.

The donation is being used to refurbish the church on Warwick Close, which was built in the 18th century and still has many of its original features.

The money donated by Lovell will be used to insulate and plaster the internal walls in the main church.  Due to the building’s age, this will help to improve insulation and reduce the heating costs during the upcoming winter months.

It has been over 20 years since any major work to update the building has been carried out and there is currently a lot of work that needs to be completed to maintain health and safety standards as well as repair brick work.

The refurbishment of the church work is currently ongoing and will affect all areas of the building including the kitchen, toilets, entry hall, baptism pool, roof and flooring.

Viv Palmer, Reverend at the Triumphant Church of God said: “The church has a vibrant congregation, welcoming people of all ages, different backgrounds and ethnicities. They are all dedicated to the development of the Church. “We are currently looking at various ways to raise funds to assist in the refurbishment of the building and we are extremely grateful for Lovell’s support and financial donation.”

Stuart Penn, regional managing director at Lovell said: “We work very hard to support local community groups and organisations as much as we can and we are thrilled to have donated this money to the Triumphant Church of God.”
