Innovation and growth secure top spot for Lovell at EDP Business Awards
Successful expansion through business-focused innovation saw Lovell’s Eastern region win the Investing in Future Growth category at this month’s Eastern Daily Press Business Awards.
The Norwich-based region – which has just moved into modern new offices at the Broadland Business Park following its continued growth – has doubled its turnover in 2017 and increased employment levels by over 71 per cent through the strategic development of its partnership homes business.
The awards judges commented: “This growth was driven by a clear long-term vision and goals for the business that has seen it re-balance its operations and backed that with strong investment in both assets and people. This investment has delivered an excellent return in both revenue and profit growth for the company and a strong increase in local employment, including a commitment to training through the business.”
Lovell in East Anglia has successfully promoted itself as a partner able to offer local authorities and housing associations both contracting and development expertise. The company has also grown the open market sales side of its business, establishing itself as a leading developer both of high-end executive properties as well as traditional family homes.
The award also recognises the region’s proactive response to market and legislative changes by introducing new ways of working such as its ground-breaking partnership with the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. Already attracting interest from local authorities around the UK, the partnership involves Lovell building new homes for the council as a contractor while also providing a full development, planning and sales service. Other innovations keeping Lovell at the forefront of the sector include its new digital platform which allows homebuyers to have a three-dimensional walk-through of their new home as well as choose fixtures and fittings virtually.
Regional managing director Simon Medler, who was presented with the award at a black-tie event held at the Norfolk Showground, says: “We have an amazing team in the region. I was thrilled to collect this award on their behalf – they are the people whose energy and commitment have made it possible. It’s a reflection of the time, effort and talent they have invested in growing our business and a tribute to a lot of hard work – everyone should feel very proud.”
