Lovell has just started work on a £58 million development of more than 200 new high-quality homes in Holt, north Norfolk.
One of north Norfolk's largest housing developments, the scheme will create 213 much-needed homes at Heath Farm on the town's south-eastern edge. The area is earmarked for new housing by North Norfolk District Council as part of a wider development also set to bring new jobs and employment opportunities to the historic market town.
Lovell will build 162 homes for open market sale - a mix of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom houses - and 51 homes for affordable rent and shared ownership, including one-bedroom flats and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses. Carefully designed to complement north Norfolk's architectural heritage, the properties will feature traditional brick, render and flint finishes.
Construction on the new homes is beginning following completion of the new roundabout on the A148 bypass which will be the main access to the development. The overall housing scheme is set for completion in 2023 with the first new homes for sale expected to be available at the end of this year. The new affordable rent and shared ownership homes will be owned and managed by Victory Housing Trust.
Alongside the new housing, Lovell will also create a new access road to Hempstead Road via the existing Heath Drive Industrial estate. This will relieve congestion by diverting traffic - particularly heavy goods vehicles - from Hempstead Road.
"We're very excited to be starting work on these outstanding new homes for Holt which is one of north Norfolk’s most desirable places to live,” says Simon Medler, regional managing director for Lovell which has its East Anglia regional office in Norwich. Residents will enjoy a stunning location, close to the north Norfolk coast and a short walking distance both from Georgian Holt’s historic town centre and the peaceful woodland walks of Holt Country Park.
“Designed and built to the highest quality standards, these modern and spacious homes will prove the perfect fit for a wide range of homeseekers, from young professionals and downsizers to couples and families.”
