Lovell seminar highlights great career opportunities for women in construction

Share

Many women do not consider the construction industry when planning a career, but perhaps this is because they are unaware of the wide range of opportunities in this diverse and exciting industry.

Construction is not just about manual trades and working on site; it offers many other challenging and rewarding roles, from planning, design and project management to surveying, legal work, and sales and marketing.

The key is to find what role interests you the most. To help, Lovell is hosting a free careers advice seminar on Wednesday 29th November at our new Trinity Walk development in Woolwich.

You will have the chance to look around the construction site, where we are redeveloping an ageing estate, in partnership with the Royal Borough of Greenwich and PA Housing Group, into a contemporary neighbourhood of around 700 new homes.

You can also hear first-hand about the experiences of women who are already building successful careers in the construction industry.

Sophie Bruce, regional training adviser at Lovell, says: “There are fantastic opportunities in construction, but women are vastly under-represented and make up only 11 per cent of the national workforce. Lovell has long campaigned to attract more women to the industry. This seminar is part of that campaign and we hope to inspire you and help you find a role suited to your talents.”

Spaces at the careers advice seminar are limited; to guarantee your free place please register as soon as possible at [email protected] or call 020 8731 3805.

The site tour starts at 4pm, followed by a presentation and refreshments at 5pm. Location: Site office, Trinity Walk, Woolwich New Road, Woolwich SE18 6AF.
