Lovell charity walkers put best foot forward and raise over £6k
As they gear up for a sponsored walk of up to 37 miles this weekend, a team from partnership housing developer Lovell are celebrating reaching their £6,000 charity fundraising target.
But they’re not putting their feet up. Twenty-eight colleagues from Lovell’s London region now want to raise even more cash for Great Ormond Street Hospital and veterans charity Help for Heroes when they hike through the West Sussex countryside on Saturday, 13 May.
Most of the Lovell team are tackling a 60km trek which will take them through the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park.
“Thanks to fantastic support from friends, families, colleagues, clients, business partners and suppliers, we’re delighted to have passed our fundraising target in advance,” says Lovell regional partnerships director Andy Collyer. “We’ve done lots of training and our goal now is to push on, enjoy the walk – blisters permitting – and raise even more money for these incredibly worthwhile causes.”
The Lovell team are taking part in the Just Walk event which starts and finishes at Goodwood Racecourse, near Chichester, West Sussex with entrants able to choose from a 20km, 30km, 40km or 60km route.
