Lovell has announced the creation of Oakfield Grange: a stylish £13.6 million development of high-quality homes in Llantarnam, Cwmbran, near Newport in south-east Wales.

The 78-home development will transform the former site of Llantarnam Community Primary School with 55 brand-new freehold two-, three- and four-bedroom houses for open market sale, significantly extending choice for local homebuyers. Initial preparations are under way at the site with construction work on the new homes set to start later this summer.

Kate Rees, regional managing director for South Wales and the South West, says: “We’re very excited to be creating this attractive collection of contemporary homes so close to Cwmbran town centre and within a 20-minute drive of Newport, Cardiff and Swansea.

“Featuring high-quality, beautifully designed interiors, these superb properties will appeal to a wide range of home seekers, from first-time buyers and downsizers to families, with a mix of house styles on offer, including 35 three-bedroom detached houses, 11 four-bedroom detached homes and nine two-bedroom homes.”

The first new homes for sale are set to become available to reserve in early autumn 2017 with the overall development scheduled for completion by the end of 2019.

A major plus for homebuyers is the availability of the Welsh Government-backed Help to Buy – Wales Equity Loan Scheme* on selected properties. This enables purchasers to secure a brand-new home with as little as a five per cent deposit.

Located just over a mile to the south of the centre of Cwmbran, Oakfield Grange benefits from excellent road and public transport connections making it perfect for commuting. Cwmbran railway station is within a mile and a half of the development which is also close to local bus stops while the A4051 and A4042 provide easy access to the M4, crucially, removing the need to go through the Brynglas tunnels.

Lovell is redeveloping the 5.6-acre site previously occupied by Llantarnam Community Primary School with 55 houses for open market sale as well as 23 affordable rented homes for housing association Bron Afon. The school moved into a new building locally in November 2016 through the Welsh Government’s 21st Century Schools Programme.

Lovell is urging prospective purchasers to get ahead of the game by registering their early interest now on 01633 730 975. Home seekers who get in touch will receive the latest updates and have the opportunity to secure their pick of the properties at an early stage.
