An official event was held on 28th January to welcome tenants to their affordable rental homes at The Electric Quarter, a thriving new community by Lovell in the heart of Ponders End, Enfield.

Lovell, working in partnership with Enfield Council, handed over the 21 completed homes to the registered provider, North London Muslim Housing Association, in December 2018. The first families have moved in and enjoyed seeing in the New Year in their new homes.

Chris Wallace, Construction Director at Lovell, commented: “We have thoroughly enjoyed being part of The Electric Quarter’s journey. We look forward to continuing our working relationship with Enfield Council and other partners to complete this exciting scheme and the high-quality, contemporary homes it provides to a wide variety of people.”

Enfield Council’s Leader, Cllr Nesil Caliskan, commented: “Ponders End is a key regeneration priority area and The Electric Quarter is just one of several exciting projects underway. The Council’s aim is to accelerate the provision of affordable housing in the borough and to create economically vibrant, welcoming and safe town and district centres that will stand the test of time. I would like to welcome all the new families to The Electric Quarter and I wish them well.”

In the first phase of The Electric Quarter, Lovell has delivered 40 townhouses for private sale in addition to the 21 affordable rental homes; all of the homes are highly energy efficient. A communal play area has also been provided.

The second phase of the development, which has already started, will comprise 106 new homes for private sale and for rent, a nursery, new library and commercial units, which will all contribute to the success of this exciting new neighbourhood.
