The winners of the inaugural Best of Royal Greenwich Business Excellence Awards in association with Lovell were announced at a glittering ceremony which took place last Friday 19 January at InterContinental London - the O2.

The new awards are designed to recognise the best businesses in Greenwich and are the result of a partnership between The Royal Borough of Greenwich and the South East London Chamber of Commerce.

Lovell’s operations director, Richard Vining, commented: “These new awards recognise the importance played by businesses in the regeneration, community and sustainability of this vibrant area and we congratulate all the winners.

“As a developer in the area we already have close links with Greenwich – we’re partnering with the Royal Borough of Greenwich and PA Housing Group on the Trinity Woolwich regeneration scheme; it’s transforming three ageing estates into high-quality new neighbourhoods and our first phase is Trinity Walk. Sponsoring these awards is simply our way of supporting business innovation in the area and represents our long-term intention to be an integral part of the community here – it’s simply part of our job.”

The event was hosted by Countdown’s Nick Hewer and was attended by over 350 guests. From 125 nominations received across 10 categories, 50 businesses were shortlisted which showcased not only the region’s business diversity but also the various ways in which they supported the local community. Councillor Denise Hyland, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, said: "Congratulations to all the winners of the first Best of Royal Greenwich Business Awards and thank you to all our sponsors for making it possible.”
