Welcome to Lovell in Scotland

Based in Glasgow, Lovell Scotland provides affordable housing and property refurbishment services. We focus on the provision of new and refurbished housing in the private sector, with a particular focus on increasing the volume of housing for sale through mixed-tenure development and land acquisition. We also construct public sector housing through partnering arrangements with key clients.

We pride ourselves on timing, quality and product excellence, and use an established consultation approach with all those involved in building and selling a house. This helps to facilitate long-term supplier relationships, and offers best value to both our clients and our customers. See projects in this region for some examples of our recent work.

Equally, we are proud of our leading training and career development schemes, ensuring that our people have the skills, competence and opportunities to develop in their roles, and deliver innovation and outstanding performance through their work.

Although we operate as an autonomous business, responsible for our own strategic planning, operational resourcing and commercial reporting, all of our work is underpinned by our wider business processes and supported by our parent company, Morgan Sindall plc. As a company we are committed to promoting positive environmental, health and safety, equal opportunities, employment and training, and customer service policies, and our progress against these is regularly monitored.

  • Lovell in Scotland scoops 2009 Considerate Constructors awards

Lovell has received a pair of Considerate Constructors awards for its sensitive, tidy and environmentally-friendly approach to construction work on two major Scottish housing projects.

Lovell received a bronze award for its work on five T84s which it has undertaken as part of Glasgow Housing Association’s (GHA) multi-million pound investment programme. The project included the overcladding and upgrading of roofing and balcony areas at five, eight-storey housing blocks in the Hillpark area of the city. Lovell carried out the improvement works as part of company’s four-year framework agreement with GHA to upgrade its housing stock.

In addition, the company picked up a further bronze award for The Courtyard, a new development of 34 flats and 14 townhouses for open market sale in Irvine. Bobby Caldwell, site manager for Lovell on the T84 scheme, and Robert Donald, site manager at The Courtyard, received the awards on the company’s behalf at a specially-arranged ceremony held at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh.

To win the bronze awards, Lovell had to demonstrate its commitment to the Considerate Constructors Scheme code of practice which requires the company to show sensitivity to the local community and environment, display outstanding levels of health and safety, and liaise closely with local residents at all times.

  • International Safety awards

The company’s high standards of health and safety have also been recognised by the presentation of the British Safety Council International Safety Award to three of its projects. The award-winning projects included two schemes for Glasgow Housing Association (GHA): a programme to overclad blocks of flats – known as T84s – with new roofs and insulated render to the walls and a large-scale roof and rendering project.
