LABC Cymru - Building Excellence Award 2009 – Ringland Phase 1, Newport

The Ringland Phase 1 project has recently won a ‘Building Excellence Award’ in the ’New Dwellings over 10 units’ category. The development is the first phase of a two phase regeneration scheme in the Ringland area of Newport, being delivered by Lovell in partnership with local housing association Fairlake Properties, providing 34 new homes – a mix of open market, low cost home ownership and homes for rent.
LABC Cymru is the umbrella organisation representing the 22 local authority building control departments in Wales. LABC runs local, regional and national awards to publicise customers who design and construct excellent buildings. From 2009, the awards will be known as the LABC Building Excellence Awards, which clearly describes what local authority building control is all about - excellence achieved through building standards, technical innovation and sustainable designs.
