The Brief
The design, refurbishment and funding of existing flats at Greenhill Court, Rutherglen.
Greenhill Court is an existing development consisting of five blocks of one and two bedroom tenement flats situated over seven floors, which account for a total of 177 properties. Lovell will focus on upgrades to the external wall, roof, lighting, security, ventilation and heating systems.
The Challenges
Lovell has sourced energy efficiency funding for the external fabric upgrade, energy efficiency measures and heating replacement from the Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP).
CESP aims to reduce carbon emissions and alleviate fuel poverty in areas of low income and high deprivation through the development of community based partnerships. The initiative aims to deliver around £350 million of energy efficiency packages between autumn 2009 and December 2012.
The Benefits
Using the Lovell resident liaison team, means the residents can stay in their homes during the works.
Project Status
Started October 2011, completion due January 2013.
