Clwyd Alyn Housing Association - Solar PV |
|
Lovell has been selected by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association to deliver their Solar PV investment programme which will see £2 million invested in tenant's homes. This wil mean more than 300 tenants across North and Mid Wales will have photovoltaic (PV) electric solar panels installed providing free electricity during the daytime when the sun is shining. Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, which is part of the Pennaf Housing Group appointed Lovell and sub-contractor partner SolarTech to carry out the work. Graham Worthington, Chief Executive of the Pennaf Group, said: "It's all part of our commitment as a registered social landlord, to decrease our carbon footprint and become more energy efficient." Jeff Williams, Development Officer, added: "On average the PV solar panels can save between £150 and £300 per year, depending on the day-time electricity usage of the tenant, and each home fitted with the panels can save around 1,000kg of carbon emissions each year too - so it's good for the purse, and good for the planet."
