Work starts on 27 new affordable homes in Nuneaton

Affordable housebuilder and regeneration specialist Lovell has started laying the foundations for 27 new affordable homes in Nuneaton.

Working in partnership with Orbit Homes, Lovell will build 12 apartments and 8 houses at Bucks Hill and 7 more houses in neighbouring Burnaby Close.

The new homes and apartments have been part funded by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and will provide much-needed affordable homes on the outskirts of Nuneaton. They are being built to high quality and energy-efficiency standards, and will be exceptional houses for local residents. The properties, which will be managed by Orbit Heart of England, will be completed by March 2012.

Tony Evans, Operations Manager for Lovell in the Midlands, commented:

It is always a pleasure to make a start on a project that we know will make a real difference to a community. We look forward to building 27 homes of outstanding quality for local families to enjoy.”

George Obeng-Manu, Head of Construction for Orbit Homes, said, “This scheme will see the regeneration of the area and we’re looking forward to working with Lovell on this development.”

Baggi Matu, investment and regeneration manager for the HCA, Midlands said; “The HCA is committed to securing successful regeneration and high quality new homes in Nuneaton and I am pleased that our investment has enabled Lovell to deliver these much-needed new homes for the Borough.”
