In partnership with Trafford Housing Trust, affordable housing specialist Lovell, has announced the completion of a £2.9 million development at Roebuck Gardens, Sale, and has welcomed residents into their brand-new homes.
Roebuck Gardens is a mixed-tenure development comprising of 26 environmentally sustainable properties. All homes have been built to be as environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient as possible for residents. Trafford Housing Trust, the largest housing provider in the borough and owner of the land, spent more than £1million on the scheme to build 16 properties: 12 houses for shared ownership and four flats to rent in partnership with Lovell. This enabled Lovell to build an additional 10 sustainable properties for sale, making this scheme obtainable for people looking for affordable homes. The houses achieve Level 3 of the Government’s Code for Sustainable Homes, whilst the flats achieve Code Level 4 and feature solar photovoltaic panels and a sedum roof, which provides insulation and creates a habitat for wildlife. All the new homes feature highly efficient heating systems and water-saving features such as restricted flow taps and showers. The development offers homes for rent, shared ownership and sale on the open market which have been built to fit in seamlessly with one another, creating a fully inclusive community. Nigel Yates, regional director at Lovell, says: “This is a key development for Lovell and it is great to see that the new homes have been met with such a positive reaction. These new sustainable homes provide much needed, high-quality affordable homes in Sale and are extremely energy-efficient, helping to reduce running costs” “Lovell’s involvement in this project recognises both the expertise of our workforce and our commitment to the environment, and it is clear that the site team has worked really hard to ensure all properties were built to the highest standard.” David Barrow, commercial director at Trafford Housing Trust, says: “We are really excited that the development is now complete and we have enjoyed working with Lovell on this innovative project. It is great to see the residents enjoying their new homes and we are looking forward to managing sustainable developments like this in the near future across Trafford.” All residents have now moved into their new homes and there is only one remaining home for sale. |
