Lovell is celebrating success after winning the prestigious Environment Award at this year's Committed to Construction in East Midlands awards ceremony, hosted by the Chartered Institute of Building. Lovell's Eastern region received the prize for its commitment to creating low-carbon developments as well as monitoring and reducing energy at its offices and projects. The region impressed judges with its Sustainable Policy Framework which enables the company to cut waste, energy use and its carbon footprint. Lovell's Eastern region is the first of the Lovell regions to win a Committed to the Environment Award and Noel Adams, Lovell regional director, says: "The award is testament to the hard work and motivation of the team to create a more environmentally considerate way of working. "Lovell has always placed great focus on its commitment to the environment and this recognition highlights the stringent regulations and targets we have set ourselves. We intend to build on this achievement and continue to invest in developing low-carbon buildings and help create communities focused on sustainable living." As part of its commitment to improving environmental performance, Lovell has developed a certified BS EN ISO 14001 Envrionmental Management System. This system ensures the business can closely manage its raw material consumption, energy usage, emissions, waste and sustainable products, transport, distribution and services. The aim of the Committed to Construction awards is to celebrate high-quality work, by all parts of the region's construction industry, including developers, designers, builders and end-users. They recognise the broadest possible spectrum of construction excellence delivered by businesses working in the East Midlands. |
