The annual Blaby Lions Gala at Northfield Park went with a spectacular swing this year, as the tenants of housing association Three Oaks Homes joined in to celebrate the third successful year of its refurbishment programme, part of a national scheme to raise the standard of social housing in the UK.
The Three Oaks Homes four-year Decent Homes refurbishment programme will positively affect the lives of 2 Lovell, the affordable housing and regeneration specialist, which is carrying out the refurbishment programme for Three Oaks Homes, hosted the building site safety stall at the Blaby Lions Gala for tenants to come together and celebrate its success. Lovell representatives manned the stall that allowed tenants and their families to learn about health and safety procedures in a fun and informative way. Karen Harrison, resident liaison officer, at Lovell says: “It was a glorious day, really well attended and an opportunity to bring the community together to celebrate the success of the Decent Homes refurbishment programme. Children and families enjoyed games like hook-a-duck, lucky dip and a poster competition. This is a prime example of the events that Lovell arranges in conjunction with the partners we work with, to thank tenants for allowing us into their homes and give something back to the communities where we work.” The final phase of the refurbishment programme will begin this year with external building refurbishments including roofing, rendering and pointing work. |

,200 residents across the region, as they see their homes upgraded to the highest standards. The refurbishment programme has already involved the replacement of kitchens, bathrooms, heating and electrical upgrades in a number of homes.
