Shane Jenning, 18, specialises in plumbing and has been recruited from West London College. He will be working towards his NVQ Level 2 qualification whilst working full-time with Lovell Respond.

Shane, from Camberley, says: “I’m really enjoying my apprenticeship and it is great to get hands on experience. The staff at Lovell Respond are really helpful and I certainly feel as though I am learning a lot from them.”

Tom Conroy, 19, is about to go into his third year at Aldershot Technical Construction College and will be working with Lovell Respond while studying for his NVQ Level 3 qualification in carpentry.

Tom, from Farnborough, says: “This apprenticeship has been really valuable and I’m hoping to secure a job with Lovell Respond or one of the sub-contractors once I have qualified. I’ve enjoyed learning a trade and working for such a good company has helped me develop and enhance my skills along the way.”

Simon Medler, managing director at Lovell Respond, says: “This is the first time we have employed apprentices on this particular project. Tom and Shane have both proven to be valuable assets to our business and it is great to see local people succeeding within the industry. We place a high importance on personal development and hopefully this is shown by helping our apprentices gain practical skills and progress within their chosen career.”
