Double award win for Lovell |
|
Lovell in South Wales has been honoured with two prestigious industry awards in one month - the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) Silver Award and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Award. The CCS is a national, non-profit making, independent organisation, founded in 1997 by the construction industry to improve its image. Lovell won the Silver Award for its St Athan site in the Vale of Glamorgan, built in partnership with Wales & West Housing Association (WWHA). The award recognises the St Athan site’s environmental record, its approachable staff, its respect for the surrounding area, and its health and safety record. RoSPA, a safety charity, launched its awards programme 55 years ago. The scheme looks not only at accident records, but also entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including important practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement. Regional director for Lovell in South Wales Nick Kurobasa says: "We are extremely honoured to receive these two awards, which are proof of the extremely high standards of working practices we have here in South Wales. "The awards recognise our consideration for the environment and our surroundings, and our commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention. Lovell is committed to maintaining and improving these standards." Anne Hinchey, chief executive of Wales & West Housing Association (WWHA), says:, "We are delighted that Lovell has won two awards this month, one of which is in conjunction with WWHA’s development at St Athan. These awards are testament to the consistently high standards of Lovell’s work." |
