We value our people very highly. We always aim to provide an enjoyable working environment and opportunities for them to develop their careers. We are rewarded by people who are loyal, long-serving and dedicated to their work. Personal development reviewWe believe it is important that our people are well trained to do their jobs safely, efficiently and well. All new staff have a thorough induction and all salaried staff have an annual personal development review, which looks at their performance, training needs and promotion goals. We believe our training provision is unmatched. Support goes far further than training, however. We offer a range of benefits to staff, which far outweigh our obligations - but which do represent the value we place on them. For example, we provide staff with a free helpline they can call with any professional or private problems. This confidential service also allows for face-to-face counselling sessions where required for employees and their families. Diverse workforceWe aim for full diversity in our workforce. We are actively involved with the organisation, National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) and have some excellent employees as a result. We work with disadvantaged children in a range of settings, including the Construction Youth Trust; and we take ex-offenders on as apprentices. Of course, we also always look to recruit from the communities in which we are working too. We can point to many, many individuals who we took a risk on employing who are now genuine assets to the business and whose work is highly valued. Exceptional peopleLovell employees are encouraged to use their initiative and to make a difference. This is an attitude that spreads into their lives outside of work too, with many achieving extraordinary things for charity, often by completing rigorous challenges. This is typical of the people who work for Lovell, who are exceptional in many ways.
Lovell are an equal opportunities employer, and have achieved the Investors in People standard. |
