The first two trainees taken on through the scheme have been based at Camp Hill, Nuneaton, where Lovell is working on Pride in Camp Hill's major regeneration scheme. A third trainee from Onley is working with Lovell at Tile Hill, Coventry. For Lynne Hardy, resettlement/community links manager at HM Prison Onley, the apprenticeship scheme is "a great opportunity for ex-prisoners to break the cycle of re-offending behaviour and build on the vocational skills they have gained in custody". The company has also been successfully involved in initiatives with prisons and young offender institutions in other parts of the UK. In the North West, Lovell is working with Thorn Cross Young Offender institution in Warrington, with one training placement already arranged and the possibility of others to follow. Lovell has also established a partnership with ConstructionSkills and the Construction Youth Trust to support enhanced training and development opportunities for groups under-represented in the construction industry.
