Frequently asked questions on Inspire Scholarships

No, sorry, the scheme is for new students starting university in the autumn after the March closing date.


Which courses are eligible for a scholarship?

The courses have to be construction related, usually Construction and the Built Environment, Building Studies, Construction Management etc.


What work will I do during the summer placement?

We will agree a mutually acceptable project or role with you. Our aim is to provide interesting and real work which will be complementary to your degree course. We hope the work you undertake will also add value to the Lovell business.


Will I be paid a salary during the placement?

Yes, in addition to your bursary! We will pay you the pro-rata equivalent of £11,000 per year, which is a little over £200 per week before tax.


When will I receive the bursary?

50% (£1,000) of each year's bursary will be paid to you in October and the remaining 50% in the following February.


How do I receive the money?

You will be sent a cheque to the address you provide.


What is the closing date for applications?

31 March each year.


When should I apply if I am going to take a gap year?

Please apply by the end of March in the year you are going to start your university course.
