Job title:

Sales Advisor

What does your job involve?

It all starts with the setting up a new site, where I'll find out about the local area, research local trends and do market research on similar properties to those we are selling. I then continue to report on local competition every month. I deal with enquiries over the phone and face-to-face, walk people around the site and explain the show unit. We will view actual flats if available and safe on site.

I go through all the plans with the purchaser and take reservation deposits and identity documents. I liaise with solicitors and clients throughout the purchase process, deal with surveyors, have site meetings with the project manager to learn progress and any problems. Once the deal is done, I do home demonstrations for the purchaser to show them how the property works and where everything is, then I arrange final cleans for handover day. I hand over the keys and then deal with any enquiries that may arise post-completion.

What qualifications did you start your career with?

  • 6 O Levels

What qualifications have you gained while in this job?

  • First aid

  • Safety at work

What is the salary for this job?

£17,000 - £25,000 plus commission

What will be the next stage of your career?

At the moment I am very happy working on site as a sales advisor. A new site is around the corner with new people to deal with and a new area to learn about. The next stage would be a sales manager.
