What does your job involve?

I am in charge of checking the quality of workmanship to maintain standards on site, monitoring health and safety and ensuring work is carried out in a safe manner. I must also ensure that works are completed within the timescale of the programme. While on site, I check the right tradespeople have turned up and the right materials have arrived, before going out to the various houses to make sure work is progressing smoothly and safely. At the end of the day, I make sure all rubbish has been removed and the site has been left safe.

What qualifications did you start your career with?

  • Senior Certificate (the Australian equivalent to A Levels).

What qualifications have you gained while in this job?

  • HNC in Building Studies

  • NVQ Level 3 in Site Supervision

  • First aid certificate

  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate

What is the salary for this job?

£18,000 - £26,000

What will be the next stage of your career?

I would like to carry on studying, perhaps gain my degree with the help of Lovell and take my career as far as possible.
