NHBC Pride In The Job Award 2009

Lovell Site Manger, Paul Phillips who has been leading the construction team behind a new homes scheme in Ringland, Newport has been named one of the UK’s top site managers for doing an outstanding job at the development. The award recognises that 29 year old Paul has maintained excellent standards in the building of the 32 new homes – 18 flats, 7 houses and 6 bungalows at Ringland. The new housing, for rent and affordable home ownership forms part of a regeneration programme by Fairlake Properties for the estate. The 32 homes are the second phase of a new housing estate, with 34 homes by Lovell in the first phase. Paul Phillips said: “The award is the result of 12 months of hard graft from everyone involved in the development”. Paul will be presented with his ‘Pride in the Job Quality’ Award at a special lunch in October at Holland House Hotel, Cardiff. He will also be put forward to complete for ‘Seal of Excellence’ Award in the next phase of the national competition

ROSPA Gold Award Occupational health and Safety 2009 – Regional Office, 2nd Consecutive Year!

Lovell for the second successful year has won the Gold RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Award in recognition of the excellent health and safety management systems in place at its construction sites and offices across South Wales and the South West.

Silver Considerate Constructors award for Lovell - 2009

Lovell Wales & South West Region has received a Silver Considerate Constructors award for its sensitive and environmentally-friendly approach to construction work on a major housing improvement programme it is carrying out in Bridgend, Wales.The company, received a silver award from the Considerate Constructors Scheme – a national initiative designed to improve the image of construction. Lovell scooped the award for its work on an £15 million, five-year housing improvement programme it is carrying out for Valleys to Coast in Bridgend, which will see 5,000 homes refurbished to the Welsh Housing Quality Standard.

LABC Cymru - Building Excellence Award 2009 – Ringland Phase 1, Newport

The Ringland Phase 1 project has recently won a ‘Building Excellence Award’ in the ’New Dwellings over 10 units’ category. The development is the first phase of a two phase regeneration scheme in the Ringland area of Newport, being delivered by Lovell in partnership with local housing association Fairlake Properties, providing 34 new homes – a mix of open market, low cost home ownership and homes for rent.

Cardiff-based affordable housing and regeneration specialist Lovell has received three Considerate Constructors Awards for its sensitive, tidy and environmentally-friendly approach to construction work on three major housing schemes it has undertaken in Cardiff and Newport. Investors in People Accreditation 2007 – Regional Office

The Investors in People Standard is a business improvement tool designed to advance an organisation's performance through its people. In October 2007, the Lovell Wales and South West Regional office was awarded recognition as an ‘Investor in People’.
The Standard was developed in 1990 by a partnership of leading businesses and national organisations, the Standard helps organisations to improve performance and realise objectives through the management and development of their people. Since it was developed, the Standard has been reviewed every three years to ensure that it remains relevant, accessible and attractive to all.

TPAS Cymru Contractor Accreditation Award for Resident Involvement 2007 – Regional Office

In 2007 Lovell became the first housing refurbishment specialist to be awarded the TPAS Quality Mark for contractors on a national basis. This accreditation recognises companies who demonstrate best practice in the way they work with and engage residents when improving local authority or housing association homes or building new housing. Lovell underwent a robust external assessment by TPAS which included interviews with clients and resident representatives.

Careers Wales - 'Most Valued Partner Award' – 2007 Regional Office

In March 2007, Careers Wales Cardiff and the Vale celebrated its most valued partners at its annual awards ceremony aimed at promoting the commitment of schools, colleges and companies in developing Education Business Links. A total of 38 establishments were presented with ‘Most Valued Partner Awards’ during Careers Wales inaugural evening ceremony, hosted at the Hilton Hotel in Cardiff on 1st March. Among those receiving an award was Lovell - one of the UK’s leading providers of affordable housing - which received a Curriculum Development Award (2006-07) ‘ Employer Award for Support to Secondary School Curriculum Development’ for its ongoing commitment and work with local schools through Careers Wales.
